Eagles Hall , 1000 Acid Mine Rd, Sullivan MO

We are honored to announce this page and memorial scholarship fund in honor of Larry Light. For those who had the honor to know Larry, knew his love for bluegrass music, guitar pickin’, and his family. Larry grew up in Stanton, MO and was a graduate of the class of 1981 at Sullivan High School. From an early age, he found his love for music and playing the guitar. In school, he played the french horn and was in the jazz and marching band. Larry continued to accelerate at playing the guitar in numerous bluegrass bands and loved to attend and play at Bluegrass festivals from Missouri all the way to Montana! One of his first bands was Home Cookin’ and then in 1998, he became well known in the bluegrass community in his band The Meramec Jetts. He then later joined the band Alex and the Stiff Riffs where they played private events, festivals, and multiple fundrasiers. We are wanting to honor Larry’s legacy and his love for music by creating this scholarship fund to support young musicians. We have some exciting things in the works so please make sure to like this page for an ✨announcement✨ soon!
